Essay

This dissertation is devoted to the study of the reproductive process in Lamium glaberrimum, Sideritis catillaris and Scutellaria albida in the connection with solving questions of plants' preservation and systematic. The processes of flower genesis, male and female reproductive structures' formation, pollination, fertilization, endospermo- and embryogenesis, fructification and seeding have been successfully described. Analysis of seeds' productivity and reproductive success have been made. Predominant similarity of the types of reproductive structures' formation has been shown. It has been determined that the form of embryo sac, development of integumental tapetum, quantity, form and number of nucleus in endospermal haustorium are specific for species. In spite of S. albida has some specific features they don't go beyond family characteristics. It has been determined that in all studied species low number of pollen grains forms, but most of them are morphologycally normal. It has been found out that all studied species have such pollination type as allogamy, but for L. glaberrimum it can also be autogamy in kleistogamous flowers. The most vulnerable stages of reproductive process are pollination and seeds' formations. All these species are characterised with seeds' multiplication.
