Object: women of different age with normal bone mineral density, osteopenic and osteoporotic, postmenopausal women with different duration of postmenopausal period. Work is devoted to the issue of diagnostic improvement and treatment osteoporosis in women of different age by determination of validity of one-minute osteoporosis risk test of International osteoporosis foundation, structural-functional state of spine, fracture risk, efficacy of developed schemes of antiosteoporotic drugs. Methods: clinical, information, densitometric, rentgenmorphometry, statistical. For the first time validity, sensitivity and specificity of one-minute osteoporosis risk test of International osteoporosis foundation were determined in women of different age. For the first time reference data of bone mineral density of total body, spine, femur and forearm was created using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometery in women of different age; the correlation between age, height, weight and bone mineral density was determined. For the first time reference data of rentgenmorphometry normative indexes for Ukranian women was defined using programme lateral vertebral assessment ("Prodigy", GE Medical systems, Lunar, model 8743, 2005). The peculiarities of rentgenmorphometry indexes in postmenopausal women depending on age of menopause and duration of postmenopausal period were evaluated. It enables more effective by measures of prophylaxis and treatment of osteoporosis and its complications. For the first time in Ukraine complex evaluation of actual medicines (alendronic acid, ibandronic acid, strontium ranelate). As result this work for practical public health using of one-minute osteoporosis risk test in women of different age allows to show the osteoporosis risk group among postmenopausal women. The determination of the bone mineral density (total body, spine, femur, forearm), rentgenmorphometry normative indexes in practically healthy women depending on age using dual-energy X-ray absorptiometery permits to improve the prophylaxis and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. Clinical practice proves the effectiveness of developed schemes of antiosteoporotic drugs in prophylaxis and treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis. The area of incorporation: "traumatology and orthopaedy". Results of the investigation were introduced into clinical practice of State Institution "Institute of gerontololgy AMS of Ukraine", city hospital №1 Bila Cercva. Material of the dissertation was included into teaching plan of postgraduated course in the cathedra of therapy and gerontology Postgraduate Academy AMS of Ukraine and course "Diagnostic and treatment of osteoporosis" in Ukrainian scientific-medical centre of osteoporosis.
