Essay

The dissertation is devoted to optimization and correlation of indices in social and ecological development of agro-ecological systems and grounding the system of measures as to their improvement on the example of Poltava region. It was stated on the basis of integrated ecological indices of developing the investigation object that weakly stable state of ecological sub-system is found in 7 districts; unstable state - in 5 districts; 11 districts have critical state. The estimating of the level of ecological education and consciousness in young people living in the country-side has been conducted; five-level modified scale has been used. It has been found out, that 34 per cent have a rather low level of ecological consciousness. This gave the possibility to define the way of reforming ecological education using formal and informal approaches. Ways of agro-ecological balanced regional development have been defined.
