Essay

There has been studied wear resistance of tool steels У8А, Р6М5, ХВГ, 60С2 and hard alloy ВК3 with wear-resistant coatings applied in different ways (chemical, electrochemical precipitation of nickel and chromium, combined on the basis of nickel, electrospark and plasma ones) under the conditions of high specific pressures and velocities with continuous registrations and computer processing of frictional parameters. There has been offered the technique of wear forecasting and it has been practically verified. There have been revealed peculiarities of wear and build-up formation and there have been offered the ways to prevent it and to increase wear resistance. There has been established the mechanism of wear.
