Essay

Description of the modern state of vegetation of the river Uday basin and its sozological value is made. The classification of vegetation, which is presented by 5 types of vegetation and 53 formations are selected. 1 species from European Red list, 6 species from the Addition I of Bern convention; 27 species from to the Red Book of Ukraine (1996), 65 species needing regional protection were recorded. The establishment of 6 new protected territories and increase of existing ones are grounded. Maps of distribution of rare communities and species, proposed protected t territories in ecological network of the river Uday are pointed.
