Kuznetsova T. The intraspecific variability of Fraxinus excelsior L. in provenance tests and natural forests in left-bank forest-steppe of the Ukraine

The object is phenotypical intraspecific variability of common ash; the aim is studying of intraspecific variability of common ash (Fraxinus excelsior L.) and development of recommendations of its usіng in practical selection; methods - forestry, taxation, tree breeding, biometrical, anatomo-morphological, mathematical statistics; the new approach - for the first time in Ukraine the results of complex researches of the most aged (60-years) provenience tests of common ash are analysed; the advanced classification of bark type and apex meristems cones forms of vegetative buds of common ash was offered; the anatomo -morphological methods of common ash trees quality properties forecasting and features of their growth are developed; the main include - individual and geographical intraspecific variability of growth and quality peculiarities of common ash is revealed; climatypes which differ the best growth, quality and a state in conditions of the Left-bank Forest steppe of Ukraine were determined; significant individual variability of common ash by bark type and presence of connections between bark type and parameters of growth and quality was revealed; the diagnostic method of growth, quality and biological resistance of common ash; trees by vegetative buds apical cone form was proposed, the " double" form of an apical cone is described for the first time; the field is forestry.
