The thesis includes a comprehensive study of folkloristic activity of Vatslav from Olesko (Waclaw z Oleska or Waclaw Zaleski). Particularly it consists of compilation "Piesni polskie and ruskie ludu Galicyjskiego" (Lviv, 1833) analysis, prerequisites of its creation, concept principles of the foreword, its composition and connections with the Ukrainian and Slavic folklore at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
