Turubara O. Medicinal herbs of Leftbank Polissya: the state of resources, prospects of use and protection

Thesis is devoted to studying medicinal herbs of Leftbank Polissya, their resources and prospects of use and protection. It is established that in the flora of Leftbank Polissya medicinal herbs are presented by 790 species of vascular plants, which refer to 411 genera, 119 families, 5 divisions. Systematic, biomorphological and ecological-cenosis structure of medicinal herbs of Leftbank Polissya's flora are considered. Resource examination of 15 species of official medicine's medicinal herbs is carried out. Geographical extension of medicinal herbs of Leftbank Polissya is determined. The present state and the structure of population of two species of medicinal herbs (Convallaria majalis L. and Helichrysum arenrium (L.) Moench.), that are used in official medicine are analyzed. Ten new locations of five rare medicinal herbs' species (Dactylorhiza fuchsia (Druce) Soo., Dactyloriza majalis (Rchb.) P.F.Hunt & Summerhayes, Epipactis helleborine (L.) Crantz, Lilium martagon L., Platanthera bifolia (L.) Rich.) are revealed. The recommendations from the most efficient use, preservation and renewal of medicinal herbs' resources, scientific substantiation and recommendations for organization of registered grounds and creation of botanical preserves are worked out.
