3. Research objective - working process of the torque converter in a range of traction regime. The purpose of research - adaptation external characteristic parameters of torque converter by optimization due to modification of reactor blade profile angles in case of change the main external characteristic parameters of vehicle power block. Methods of researches - mathematical modeling method, methods the theory of nonlinear programming, 2D method of calculation, experimentally-theoretical research method, methods of the mechanics fluid and gas, method of conformal mapping. Theoretical and practical results - the designed mathematical model of working process allows, with satisfactory accuracy, to carry out calculation of external and internal torque converter performances on a perspective samples design stage and modification of existing constructions. Application methodic the optimization external characteristic parameters of torque converter, due to modify reactor blades angles of torque converter, allows to receive a new combination of reactor blades angles for changed parameters of power, the moment and a range of working rotational speed of vehicle, to accelerate working and to lower expenditures at projection and experimentally researches. Novelty - the universal mathematical model of torque converter working process; - for the first time the optimization problem which allows to define the input and output reactor blades angles; - calculation methodic of axisymmetric flow in torque converter has received the further development; - for the first time complex use the calculations methodic of hydrodynamics tasks for the solution the adaptation problem of torque converter external characteristics to vehicle requirements due to angles blades only one wheel systems - reactor. Implementation - has been developed by Hydromachine Machinery Department of NTU "KhPI", KhDBM named after A.A. Morozov, Kharkov. Application area - mechanical engineering.
