Object of research - funeral ceremony, traditions and funeral on cemeteries Chersones – Cherson (IV – X century). The purpose of research: study of earlychristian funeral ceremony and traditions of lateantique - earlyByzantine Chersones – Cherson in IV - X century. Methods: method of the critical analysis, measure-descriptive, typological, statistical, structurally functional, comparative-analytical, methods of analogies and historical modeling. Scientific novelty: in work complex research of a history of formation and development christian funeral ceremony and traditions lateantique - earlyByzantine Chersones – Cherson for the first time was carried out; on a basis archeological and written sources earlychristian funeral ceremony and traditions, connected to it, is reconstructed. The practical value of the dissertation: the results of research can be used by preparation of general and special courses of lectures on a history of the Middle Ages, generalizing scientific works on a history of Byzantium, editions on a history of a christianity, and also by preparation of the appropriate sections of an exposition of museums.
