As the result of our study, the chorology and ecological-phytocoenotic peculiarities of the forementioned species were specified including the preparation of the area maps and the lists of theirn modern localities. For two model species, G. lutea and G. punctata, the peculiarities of ontomorphogeny were studied including analysis of four periods and 10 age stages. The age structure and the seed productivity were studied for seven populations of the same model species. The variability of the essential morphological characters of G. lutea, G. punctata, G. laciniata, G. acaulis and G. verna was investigated. The reasons of the reduction of area of the rare high-mountain species of Gentiana were established and the scientific base of the their protection in the Ukrainian Carpathians were elaborated.
