Popovich H. Embryological features of seed production in some Spiraeoideae, Rosoideae (Rosaceae) species from the flora of the Ukrainian Carpathians.

The results of a cytoembryological research of the seed production features in some species of the subgenera Spiraeoideae and Rosoideae of the genus Rosaceae those belong to the flora of the Ukrainian Carpathians are performed in this study. The thesis is devoted to detailed embryological investigation of features in the formation of male and female reproductive structures, the patterns of reproductive process, the development of endosperm and embryo. The formation of a structurally unisexual flower in the Aruncus sylvestris Rafin. species and flower's organogenesis of some species of the genus Spiraea L. were investigated. We determined that seed reproduction of the investigated species of subgenera Spiraeoideae and Rosoideae is occur by sexual reproduction or by apomixic.
