Essay

The comparatively study of homogenization, densification and microstructure evolution upon synthesis of Ti-5Al-5V-5Mo-3Cr and Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al alloys has been performed. It was shown that introduction of alloying elements as complex master alloy powders resulted in fast completion of homogenization, while densification and healing of pores determines completion of whole synthesis. It was shown that application of disperse alloying particles, creation of uniform diffusion mass transfer and correlation of heating and sintering regimes to carry out sintering exclusively in beta-phase field are useful to form high-strength states in synthesized alloys. On the base of present results, demands to starting hydrogenated titanium powder have been developed. Article prototypes from high-strength titanium alloys have been produced.
