The thesis is devoted to investigation of the modern system of cultural heritage protection in France, history of its forming. On the basis of complex research of sources and literature the practical and theoretical French experience in the sphere of cultural heritage protection was analyzed. Archive documents, which are used in the research, tell history of some monuments' life or reveals documents of public institutions in the field of cultural heritage protection. The author made an attempt to give complex view on the changes that took place in the organizational system and methodological approaches determined in the field of cultural heritage protection in the priorities of French institutions.
