Essay

The formation of conceptual approaches of Ronald Reagan Administrations' towards the USSR in 1981-1989 is studied in the dissertation. The study is informed with the analysis of great number of sources. The author in details analyses the strategy and tactics used by R. Reagan Administrations' to develop and implement anti-communistic model of relations with Soviet Union. The author also studies main factors which influenced the decision of Reagan Administrations to start the policy of constructive relations with the USSR. Main R. Reagan's and his political milieu's ideas about international policy and American-Soviet relations during the period before R. Reagan's presidency are analyzed, and the impact of neoconservative ideology on R. Reagan Administrations' policy towards the USSR is studied.
