Method of the self-consistent harmonic approximation in application to the metals with a hexagonal close-packed structure, first of all to titanium, is developed. A method is based on the double-time Green's functions. Within the scope of this approximation expression is received for a dynamic matrix to the crystal with a hcp lattice, in which contributions are obviously selected from pair and non-central forces of interaction and effects of anharmonicity, and also electron-phonon interaction. The influence of anharmonicity of thermal vibrations of crystalline lattice, contribution of non-central forces of interatomic interaction and anisotropy in the phonon spectrum Ti and coefficient of diffusion in the direction of the axes c and a are calculated. The change of frequency of vibrations with temperature, which is caused by a presence of effects of anharmonicity, is investigated. It is shown that due to the effects of anharmonicity the potential barriers for activation of diffusion are decreased, that is a reason of comparative high creep of titanium alloys.
