Essay

In the work, basec on complex clinical-pathomorphological analysis, the clinical data and results autopsy of 333 patients, died from pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) at Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital within 18 years (1990–2007). The thesis determines the risk factors and levels, sources, diseases and operations, which were complicated by the fatal PTE. Thanks to this work, the peculiarities of fatal intrahospital and extrahospital PTE have been studied. Also determines the clinical defects of intrahospital PTE prophylaxis and states the low level of its clinical recognition. Besides, it substantiates the principles of expert analysis of diagnostic and preventive measures for PTE in the multidiscipline hospital.
