Research object: process of spatial development of city. Purpose of dissertation work: to develop теоретико-методологічні positions, and practical recommendations in relation to a management spatial development of city. Research methods: Theoretical and methodological basis of dissertation research are fundamental positions of general economic theories, general theories of development, theories of space, social theories and theories of урбаністики. Put in dissertation work of task decided by the generally accepted scientific methods and receptions of research, in particular, theoretical generalization, grouping, comparison, comparison, classification, chronologic division into periods, analogy and associations, to unity historical and logical; economic comparison, statistical grouping, analogy, analysis of the systems and synthesis, index analysis; logistic organization, combining, planning, prognostication, причинно-наслідкового connection, graphicly logical design and програмно-інформаційних methods and receptions. Formulated and grounded in dissertation work науково-теоретичні positions and practical recommendations enable to guarantee rational organization of city as an object of forming and adjusting of spatial development. Scientific developments of bread-winner are utillized in current work of Main administration of town-planning, architecture and житлово-комунального economy of Volinskoy regional state administration of Department of town-planning of Lutsk city advice; To the department of economy of Lutsk city advice; Main administration of economy of Volinskoy regional state administration; Associations of cities of Ukraine. Drawn on research results in the educational process of the Lutsk national technical university at teaching and methodical providing of disciplines of "Placing of productive forces and regional economy", "Prognostication and macroeconomic planning", "Logistic", "Strategic management". Dissertation work is executed in accordance with the plan of research works of the Lutsk national technical university: "Mechanism of increase of competitiveness of regions of Ukraine" (number of state registration 0109U001209); "Mechanism of realization of policy of steady development of region" (number of state registration 0106U000610; "Mechanism of stimulation of socio-economic development of region" (number of state registration 0106U000610). A scientific novelty consists in a theoretical ground and development of practical recommendations in relation to adjusting of spatial development of city, the method of analysis and estimation of level of spatial development of city is first developed in particular, which foresees finding of integral index of spatial development, going out from the calculation of partial indexes of estimation of characteristic signs of every spatial subsystem of city, that allows to define the level of organization of space of city and find out existent spatial backlogs.
