Essay

The adaptation degree of plants from genus Nepeta L. to the culture conditions for the Southern coast of Crimea and Steppe Crimea. Botanical descriptions of 15 species and 6 hybrid forms of catnip from collection of NBG have been added. A three-specific hybrid (2n=54) has been firstly synthesized and a chromosomal row for polyploidy forms of interspecific hybrids of catnip has been determined. As the result of pollinological researches presence of pollen grains with increased number of apertures in hybrid forms of Nepeta has been set up. The analysis of essential oil accumulation in 14 kinds and 6 forms of plants genus Nepeta been made and its component composition has been studied. Chemical composition of essential oils in 6 species of catnip has been investigated firstly.
