The results of the biochemical study of lipid methabolism and mineral density of bone tissue in patients with primary osteoarthritis are presented. The study population was represented by 139 patients with primary osteoarthritis, assoсiated with different body mass index. Osteopenic changes are diagnosed for patients with primary osteoarthritis associated with normal or decrease body mass index. Osteoarthritis of hands is the most common form of arthritis in patients with osteopenic syndrome. The presence of dyslipidemias was established in patients with primary osteoarthritis and concomitant increased body mass index and obesity. The study revealed worsening of disease course and predominant involvement of knee and hip joints in patients with primary osteoarthritis and concomitant dyslipidemias. On the basis of those data, different treatment programs using a Zinaxin omega-3 and Forcal plus were recommended for treating patients with primary osteoarthritis.
