Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of composite fuel based on peat and vegetable biomass with prescribed energy and mechanical quality indicators for use in heat-and-power engineering systems. The state of peat-briquet industry in Ukraine, the technological schemata and installations of solid fuel production, properties of peat and vegetable fillers as objects of solid fuel production, quality indicators of fuel briquettes are analyzed. The practicability of using vegetable biomass as a filler in the peat briquettes and pellets production is grounded. The results and analysis of physical-chemical, energy, mechanical and structural researches are presented. A boundary moisture of peat for the process of briquettes and pellets formation is validated. The optimal correlations and reasonable range of parameters of pressing are defined. The calculated dependence for determining оf the heat of composite fuel combustion is developed. The hypothesis of the intensification of the composite fuel combustion process in comparison with peat briquettes due to the primary gasification of the filler and the continual renewal of the reaction surface in the combustion process is suggested. A calculation methodology that attributes the pressing parameters quality indices of fuel is developed. The technologies of composite peat briquettes and pellets production are developed.
