Essay

The thesis deals with the complex estimation of 137Cs and 90Sr radionuclide in water ecosystems of fish farms in the third and fourth zones of radiation contamination in Forest Steppe. We have investigated 137Cs and 90Sr content in soils of the banks of fish ponds, foundation soils, pond water, higher water plants and in different kinds of pond lakes. We have estimated modern radioecological condition of soils in 137Cs and 90Sr content, their storage in foundation soils, vegetative mass of water plants, fish organisms and solution of 137Cs and 90Sr in pond water. We have accounted indexes of 137Cs and 90Sr storage by macrophites, general volumes of their ejection from water ecosystems with water and fish, defined suitability of fish production for consuming. 137Cs and 90Sr content per 1 kg of fish products does not exceed permissible levels of these radionuclide according to SR - 2006. Yet, due to the fact that even low radiation doses may cause tumors and genetic mutations one should constantly control 137Cs and 90Sr content in water ecosystems of fresh water fish breeding in order to minimize the radionuclide entering to fish products which is an important source of human feeding.
