Essay

Oxide systems TiO2-Bi2O3, TiO2-ZrO2 and TiO2-WO3 with various quantitative and phase composition have been synthesized and investigated. The investigation dealt with light absorption spectra, photocatalytic activity in the reaction of methylene blue reduction. It was found that the oxide systems can be used as photocatalytic agents in reduction of N2 or as catalysts in oxidation of CO. New photocatalysts for sensitizing the bisquinocyanine-coated heterostructures TiO2, ZnO, ZrO2 to the light band with 400 nm and CdS for 560 nm have been designed.
