A research object is a process of increase of strategic potential of region. The purpose of dissertation work consists in development of mechanism of increase of strategic potential of region. The article of research are theoretical, methodical and applied principles of mechanism of increase of strategic potential of region. Research methods: system-structural, spatial analysis and logical generalization; analysis and comparison; economic-statistical; graphic and cartographic; prognostication; programmatic having a special purpose. The got results of research found a reflection in the research themes of the Lutsk national technical university: "Mechanism of stimulation of socio-economic development of region"; "Mechanisms of increase of competitiveness of regions of Ukraine", in-process Main administration of economy of Volhynia oblasnoy of state administration; in-process Main financial administration of Volhynia oblasnoy of state administration; in-process Main financial administration of Volhynia oblasnoy of state administration; in-process Main administration of industry and development of infrastructure of Volhynia oblasnoy of state administration. Theoretical and methodical developments of dissertation are inculcated in the educational process of the Lutsk national technical university, Volhynia national university of the name of Lesya Ukrainian, Volhynia institute of economy and management. The scientific novelty of the got results consists in development of mechanism of increase of strategic potential of region; improvement of concepts "potential", "strategy", "region", "strategic potential of region", methodical going near the estimation of level of strategic potential of region, going near the choice of type of strategy of increase of potential of regions of the state, methodical going near the construction of cluster model of increase of strategic potential of region, going near classification of factors of influence on strategic potential of region on signs; to the tool of realization of strategy of increase of potential of region.
