Essay

The object of research is Soviet censorship as the element of public policy life in Soviet society during the period from 1917 till 1929. The goal of research work is comprehensive research of becoming and functioning of the censorship system, content, forms and the main methods of censorship policy in Soviet Russia from 1917 till 1929. The methodologikal basis of work is the principles of historicism, objectivity and comprehensiveness of knowledge, which is implemented through the usage of complex scientific and specsal historical methods. The main conclusions are the following: direct involvement in forming of the censorship system was provided by the higher party leadership. The outset censorship efforts were directed on the consolidation of one - party dictatorship and on suppression of the opposition. The main directions of Soviet censorship policy covered publishing, radio, film, music and the control by the import of literature from abroad. Application sphere is the training courses.
