The study is devoted to the research of the South Caucasian ethnopolitical conflicts impact on the composition of the security system in the Black Sea -Caspian region. The background of ethnopolitical conflicts on the Southern Caucasus was artificially put in the process of carrying out of the Russian imperial politics directed on change of the subregion's ethnic map. It is shown that in the basis of the South Caucasian conflicts' evolution is put the process of political maturing of the dependent nations with the prospect of gaining statehood by them. It is proved in the study that the implantation of the double standards practice towards the settlement of regional ethnopolitical conflicts used by key international players creates preconditions for escalation of these conflicts and deepening of the interethnic confrontation. Taking into consideration the national interests of Ukraine on the Southern Caucasus, the author developed ideas concerning the efficiency enhancement of the Ukraine's participation in the process of settlement of ethnopolitical conflicts on the Southern Caucasus. It is proved reasonable to involve civil society mechanisms to the South Caucasian settlement process, promoting the further development of Ukraine's civil institutions and their interaction with similar institutes of the countries involved in settlement.
