Teplyuk V. Ecology of the immature stages of the development of blackflies (Diptera: Simuliidae) of Volyn Polissya

The dissertation is devoted to the complex ecological and faunistic analysis of the groups of immature stages of the development of blackflies of the natural and antropogenic running-water hydrotopes of Volyn Polissya. The paper presents the ecological characteristics of 43 Simulidae of the 12 families registered on the territory of consideration. The work characterizes the biotype distribution of immature stages. The paper analyses the dependences existing between the spread and the number of individuals and the abiotic (the content of the oxygen dissolved in water, the speed of the current, the temperature), biotic (the spectra of the larvae nutrition, the influence of parasites, predator insects and fishes on the dynamics of the numbers) and antropogenic (the peculiarities of the impact of contamination on the formation of the species composition and the level of pathological changes in their morphology) factors.
