The thesis is aimed at analyzing the theoretical and methodological approaches as well as developing the scientific and practical recommendations on increase of efficiency and activation of cross-border co-operation of Ukraine at regional level in the context of expansion of European integration process. Complex investigation of matter and peculiarities of theories of strategic approach to development of cross-border co-operation is carried out, methodological bases of the process of formation of regional cross-border development strategy are investigated as well as European experience of cross-border co-operation planning is summarized.
