The thesis deals with the synthesis of a traction multi-motor induction electric drive which increases productivity, stability, reliability and decreases the energy consumption of the coke machines vehicle. The mathematical description of the coke machine vehicle as a controlled object which accounts mass, geometrical and mechanical parameters and changes the structure, depending on a friction between driving wheels and rails, is developed. The structural synthesis of the automatic control system (ACS) for the coke machine vehicle traction drive is made. The techniques of such ACS synthesis by the either modal or conventional frequency methods are obtained. The double pole space pulse width modulation algorithm which increases the stability of the induction motor traction drive within low speeds and allows the indirect identification of the friction level between driving wheel and rail is proposed. Depending on the stator voltage frequency and the stator current active component values, the induction motor rotor flux control which decreases the energy consumption of the traction drive is grounded.
