Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the problem of mass media influence on the structure of value orientations of the student youth. Theoretical and methodological basis of research of mass-media influence on structural elements of students' value orientations has been considered in the dissertation. The structure of value orientations of youth has been researched from the viewpoint of singling out of three components and a hierarchy of life values of youth. In the work there have been analyzed the types of mass media influence as well as its psychological and linguistic means. Age peculiarities of students and characteristics of their value orientations as the object of media influence have been covered. The technologies and means of influence for each element of the structure of students' value orientations (cognitive, emotional, behavioral) have been analyzed. Psychosemantic analysis of mass media texts has been carried out; linguistic means of expressiveness of value categories of mass media have been shown. Main provisions of the public humanitarian examination of mass media products have been formulated; and a project of educational program for training of future journalists has been offered.
