Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of efficient supercharging system for automotive diesel engines with advanced trammel type conrod-free crank mechanism. The trammel type conrod-free crank mechanism enables simple integration of the under-piston air compressor to the engine design. The flexible control strategies for different configurations of hybrid charge system are presented. Application of suggested supercharge system results in 40 to 110 % increment of low-speed torque, 9 to 18 % increment of maximum torque, 0 to 3 % increment of maximum output power.
