A research object is a process of the diamond honing of the conical openings. The purpose of work is upgrading treatment of the conical openings the diamond honing on the basis of improvement of construction of instrument, able to even contact pressure at co-operating of his working surface with a detail. Research methods - theoretical and model researches of contact pressures at co-operating of working surface of diamond bar with a detail are executed on the basis of scientific positions of theory of cutting of materials, mechanics of contact co-operation at diamond-abrasive treatment and planning of tool pieces. On results researches recommendations, which allow perfecting the construction of instrument, providing upgrading conical opening by the method of the diamond honing, are given. The scientific novelty of the got results consists in that: - new approach which provides upgrading process of the diamond honing of the conical openings is offered, based on smoothing of the contact loadings on the working surface of instrument; - on the basis of research of mechanics of contact co-operation the physically grounded model of co-operation of cuttings grains of diamond bar is first developed with the surface of the conical opening at honing; - on the basis of experimental determination of character of distributing of contact pressure on the working surface of diamond bar at honing of the conical openings the rational geometrical parameters of instrument are set for the diamond honing of the conical openings with the corner of cone to 30°.
