Letukhova V. Modern state, protection and population's restoration of the Pojarkova Hawthorn (Crataegus pojarkovae Kossych)

The dissertation is devoted to the study of rare species Crataegus pojarkovae Kossych: its expansion, modern condition, biological and ecology-coenological characteristics. The dissertation provides a comprehensive study of Crataegus pojarkovae, including the specification of the population's area borders, the detailed analysis of its age structure, as well as the monitoring of the present phyto-sanitary condition of the trees, in which influence of age, abiotic and biotic factors was determined. The coenologycal characteristic of the plant groups in which the studied species participate is analyzed. The natural renewal of species in the nature , as well as recommendations on introduction of Pojarkova hawthorn are provided in the dissertation. Consortive connections of Crataegus pojarkovae are listed, including the mushrooms and insects species, detected on Pojarkova hawthorn . Their influence on hawthorn's condition is analyzed. The study of the causes of low number of Pojarkova hawthorn's population is provided, including the recommendations on protection and population growth of Crataegus pojarkovae.
