Yezlovetska I. Environmental assessment of water quality of surface sources to improve water treatment technologies

The thesis is devoted to evaluating the quality of water sources of drinking water for determining the suitability of their use in agriculture of Ukraine. The work analyzes the conditions of water quality in surface sources, depending on the season at the example of lower territory of Kremenchug reservoir and the North cut. The estimation of the ecological condition and for the first time set of environmental standards of water quality was realized, which allowed characterizing the level of environmental health of water bodies. The ecological assessment of water quality of surface drinking water sources is based on the new harmonized regulatory framework (for example, major river basins of Ukraine). The priority pollutants, which require the most attention in water treatment, were established. The way of selecting the point of water abstraction from surface water (for example Vlasivskyi water intake of Kremenchug reservoir) was grounded. The proposals to adjust water treatment technologies depending on the class of a natural water quality, were elaborated.
