The dissertation presents the solving of topical scientific technical task of the increase of the efficiency of measures on the reduction of train speed limits. The estimation methodology of saving rate of the elimination of train speed limits has been developed which differs from existing methodologies in taking into consideration additional expenses connected with the track condition and the mass of freight trains. Additional expenses connected with track condition include expenses on preventive maintenance of the track section with the excessive value of transported tonnage and expenses which are proportional to the growth of running track resistance. The developed mathematical model allows to forecast losses taken by railways when causes of the reduction of train speed limits occur. The estimation method of the rational sequence of the elimination of train speed limits connected with track condition has been provided. This method includes the condition of track infrastructure, type and characteristics of the rolling stock, restricted investment of projects. The offered investment allocation to the repair track operations allows to determine rational measures and the sequence of their implementation for the purpose of getting the highest saving and branch rate. The obtained results were used in research scientific works which were fulfilled on Lvovs'ka and Prydniprovs'ka railways' demand.
