Kharkhota L. Bioecological peculiarities of vegetative reproduction of the ornamental shrubs in the south-east of Ukraine.

The thesis is devoted to the investigation of bioecological peculiarities and capacity for regeneration by stem cutting of the introduced less-common species and cultivars of the ornamental deciduous shrubs in the south-east of Ukraine. Basing on the data, obtained from the research, the seasonal development rhythms, drought- and winter-resistance, typical peculiarities of the rhythms of the shrubs shoots growth and development have been determined and on these grounds the terms, optimal for their cutting, and the types of cuttings have been worked out, the methods of increasing rhizogeny of the shrubs stem-cuttings has been devised and approved. For the first time the method of thermostress stimulation of rhizogeny of the ornamental shrubs stem-cuttings has been recommended. The complex assessment of ornamentality of the investigated shrubs in the south-east of Ukraine has been carried out. The principles of involving new species and cultivars of shrubs have been developed and 67 deserving taxons have been recommended to add to an assortment for propagating by stem cutting and introducing into greenery planting in the south-east of Ukraine.
