Prochan M. Surgical treatment of the congenital funnel chest deformity

Object: Congenital funneled deformation of a thorax. The purpose: to improve results of surgical treatment of congenital funneled deformation of a thorax by means of application of a fixative of own design. Methods: clinical, radiological, a method of mathematical modeling, statistical. For the first time it is established that the reason of occurrence of instability inplant at surgical treatment of congenital funneled deformation of a thorax are aperiodic impulsive and long cyclic the loads having on an osteal tissue. For the first time the size and localization of strains in system "a thorax - a fixative" are defined at application pre thorax implant for correction of congenital funneled deformation of a thorax. For the first time the remote results of application developed through thorax inplant a fixative for surgical treatment of patients with congenital funneled deformation of a thorax are studied. The new through thorax fixing is developed for the correction of innate funnel-shaped deformation of thorax, and also in theory application of the through thorax fixing is grounded for withholding of thorax-costal complex at the correction of deformations of front pectoral wall. The developed fixing of new construction allows to improve the results of surgical treatment of innate funnel-shaped deformation of thorax, and also to decrease frequency of origin of complications during surgical. The developed fixative is introduced in clinical practice of Sytenko Institute of Spine and joint Pathology, Academy of Medical Science, National children's specialized hospital (Kiev), and also in educational process of chair of orthopedy and traumatology of the Kharkov national medical university and chair of traumatology and orthopedy of the Kharkov medical academy after educations formations.
