Essay

First the comprehensive study of the phase equilibria in the ternary systems ZrO2-CeO2-Ln2O3 (Ln = La, Sm, Gd) and ZrO2-HfO2-CeO2 has been carried out in the whole concentration range using contemporary methods of XRD, petrography, SEM and X-ray microprobe analysis. Four ternary systems were developed in part. The fragments of the three binary phase diagrams of the CeO2-La2O3(Sm2O3, Gd2O3) systems and complete phase diagrams of the ZrO2-La2O3(Gd2O3) systems were developed.
