Kukhlenko O. Diagnosis and treatment of cognitive deficits in the acute period of cranio-cerebral trauma of mild and medium severity

The aim of this dissertation is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive disorders in patients in the acute period of craniocerebral trauma of mild and moderate severity. Results based on ex-perimental and clinical research revealed that acute traumatic brain injury is accompanied by the devel-opment of cognitive deficits. It was found that using the test of frontal lobe assessment battery and labo-ratory evaluation of nitrite anion concentration, the total activity of nitric oxide synthase or superoxide dismutase early diagnosis of posttraumatic cognitive deficits can be made. Administration of composition of low-molecular polypeptide fractions (medicinal preparation cortexyn) was efficient to better treat-ment of posttraumatic cognitive disorders.
