Rydchuk M. Acid monoazo dyes as the reagents for the spectrophotometric determination of osmium(IV) in the presence of platinum group elements

The thesis deals with the study of Os(IV) interaction with acid monoazo dyes for the elaboration of spectrophotometric methods for osmium determination in the presence of platinum group elements. The optimum conditions of Os(IV) interaction with Orange G, Tropaeolin O, Tropaeolin OOO-I and Tropaeolin OOO-II have been established. The effective molar absorptivities of the coloured compounds have been calculated. Using the methods of IR-spectroscopy, potentiometry and voltammetry the scheme of components interaction and hypothetical structural formulae of the products have been suggested. Photometric methods for osmium determination have been developed (LOD=0.002-0.2 ?g mL-1) and the selectivity towards concomitant metals ions, among them platinum group elements, has been investigated. The methods have been approved during osmium determination in alloys, volcanic gases condensates, ores, materials of biological tissues histochemical studies.
