Kandіak N. Perfection of carrousel printing presses by means of combined Maltese mechanisms

Dissertation Thesis deals with problem how to enhance the efficiency of book processing in bookbinding mechanisms with carrousel or conveyor book feeding, supplied with recurrent turning drivers. The use of combined Maltese crank-slide or slide-crank drivers for recurrent turning of carrousel or book conveyer motion has been offered as a solution of this problem. The expediency to use the above mentioned recurrent turning mechanism has been proved experimentally and analytically. The factors of crank- slide or slide-crank drivers’ geometric parameters influence on the balance of motion and idle standing of Maltese cross and change of its kinematics and dynamics relatively to outlet Maltese mechanism have been investigated.
