The main features of forming and development in the system of training and attestation of scientific-pedagogical personnel at the Russian universities in the second half of the XIX-th - in the beginning of the XX-th centuries are investigated in the dissertation. The system of organization scientific-educational activity of universities was described in the thesis. And also the author pointed out the main defects of such system. Socio-legal and economic condition of the professorial-teaching corporation in Russian empire is defined in the research. The author analysed the main features and perspective of career growth of scientist-teacher at the Russian universities. In the research was defined dominating tendency, connected with the development the system of scientific attestation at the pre-revolutionary universities. The author investigated practice of training "young shift" of teachers at the universities of Russian empire, underlined methodology, different forms and efficiency of training scientific-pedagogical personnel.
