Essay

Morphological features of the immune system (lymphoid bone marrow sprout, thymus and spleen) of fetuses and newborns from mothers with varying degrees of preeclampsia severity were investigated. The autopsy material included 86 cases of fetal and newborn death. The following methods were used: organometry, histology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, morphometry and statistical analysis. The revealed morphological peculiarities of the fetal and newborn immune system vary depending on the severity of preeclampsia. Irrespective of the preeclampsia severity, violation of proliferative processes against the background of the lymphoid sprout maturation delay is formed in the bone marrow. Violation of proliferative activity and maturation and differentiation of thymocytes, changes in apoptosis intensity, epithelial component immaturity, violation of cytokine and hormone production were revealed in the thymus. Violations of T- and B-cellular link maturation, decrease of cytokine production, oppression of suppressive activity, violation of apoptosis intensity are formed in the spleen.
