Essay

Thesis deals with the organizational and ideological foundations of the German colonial societies and unions of the second half of XIX century, the causes of their formation, composition and evolution based on the example of structural and programmatic changes caused by active government policies of colonial conquest. Thesis reveals the essence of the targeted aims in their agitation and advocacy. It is analyzed the role of unions in colonial propaganda and psychological preparation of society to accept German expansionist ideas and facilitating the transition to active German colonial policy. Investigated the activity of colonial organizations from the missionary societies to the Pan-German and Naval alliances aimed at strengthening Germany as a colonial state. The result of this investigation was synthesizing of the activity of all colonial institutions during the stated period and their unification as a single-friendly colonial purposeful movement.
