Kruglyack Y. Biological and ecological features of species, forms and hybrids of shrubby willows (Salix L.) in conditions of Rightbank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine

The thesis is dedicated to the study of the biological and ecological features of genus Salix L. species (native and introduced), forms and hybrids in conditions of Rightbank Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. The questions of season development have been interpreted in script. The winter resistance and drought-resistance has been researched. Frost-resistance and leaves' water regime have been studied. The row of willows light-requiring is made. New plants of willows have been got in consequence of artificial hybridization. Fast-growing and ornamental specimens have been selected among them. The level of adaptation of introduced willows species have been defined. It is ascertain that willows are perspective for using in landscape gardening and power production plantations.
