Barkalova O. Hungary's Political and economical integration to the European Union (1989-2004)

Author emphasizes the following basic factors of the Hungary's European integration: economic, social and political. To the economic ones were attributed market development opportunities as a result of a grant of favorable trade conditions, capital investment, access to assistance programs carried out by the EU for its candidate-states. EU integration has given the opportunity for Hungary to improve the level of social sphere development. It is the author's opinion that the key factors are political. The latter lay in the EU enlargement idea itself as a political imperative, influence of the leading European states position, USSR disintegration, coming into power of new political forces in Hungary in 1990.
