Grydko O. Bioecological peculiarities of ornamental grasses introduced on the Southeast of Ukraine.

The thesis is a result of complex research of 36 species and 14 sorts of ornamental grasses, among 28 genera (Poaceae Barnh.) which were introduced in the south-east of Ukraine. The ecobiomorphological peculiarities and the variability of the seasonal rhythm development in the south-east of Ukraine have been studied. The xeromorphic features and adaptation reactions based of anatomical-and-morphological leave structure of the introduced species have been defined. Variability of seed elements productivity has been determined. The means to activate seed Melica altissima L. germination after a long period of storage has been suggested. Complex assessment of the introduction results, ornamental qualities, economic and biological features of grasses have been carried out. It has been observed that 21 species and 6 sorts of ornamental grases are characterized by the highest level of successful introduction. New selection sorts have been obtained as a result of Lagurus ovatus L. selection. The main principles of ornamental grasses usage in the regional green building have been developed.
