Essay

For the first time in the Ukrainian historiography, this thesis work systematically explores the issues of Ukraine-Turkey relations in the first quarter of the 20th century based on published sources, archive documents and works of both Ukrainian and overseas authors. It is maintained that relations between Ukraine and Turkey, which were revived in the course of World War I after a long pause, facilitated recognition of the independent Ukrainian state and implementation of its foreign policy in the Black Sea and Caucasus regions.
