This thesis, based on a wide range of sources and analysis of research literature investigates United States administrations domestic policy toward the structuring of the Armed Forces and suppositions of the appearance and formation of the volunteer military service. The activity of the Gates Commission as well as political strife in 1960-th caused by expedience of the draft reform are traced. Political aspect of the Nixon's administration decision to move toward an All-Volunteer Armed Forces and the process of the military transformation are uncovered. The history of an All-Volunteer Army establishment in the USA, state policy of engaging and retention volunteer to military service, contemporary socio-economical and political problems of functioning of the All-Volunteer Armed Forces are analyzed. General allowances, incentives and benefits for service-members are explored.
