Gorai H. The decorative species of the Poppy family (Papaveraceae Juss.) in Ukrainian Forest-Steppe: introductional estimation, morphobiological traits, prospects of the practical usag

The thesis is devoted to the investigation of decorative plants of Papaveraceae Juss. family as a source of an expanse of the collection funds and an enrichment of range of flower-bed and decorative open-soil plants of the Ukrainian forest-steppe zone. The information about the species composition and the variety of cultivars of Papaveraceae family in a world cultural flora is generalized. On the basis of integrated estimation of adaptation possibilities of 177 known family species the perspective of their introduction into the Ukrainian conditions is assessed. Generalized data concerning the peculiarities of passing of organogenesis stages are given; the results of studies in several aspects of flowering and fruiting biology of model types of Papaveraceae are given also. 20 species of poppy family are recommended for the utilization in the floricultural sector on the basis of complex introductional estimation according to economic-biological indexes. The recommendations about the optimal variants of their usage in the landscape gardening are resulted.
